Virginia Chicken Farmer
I have included these pictures because my Dad raised chickens when we lived in Virginia. Although all four of us kids were born in Lynchburg the family moved to Lititz, Pennsylvania where I entered the second grade. I don't have a lot of memories of Lynchburg except for the chickens. The James River flooded and killed all of the chickens. I remember as a small child helping to pick up dead chickens in ankle deep river water and chicken poop!
